Hydraulic breakers for excavators

A hydraulic breaker turns your excavator into a powerful breaking machine for concrete, asphalt and rock. At Riverland Parts you will find breakers from brands such as HYDRARAM, Haner and Epiroc, for machines from around 2 to 40 tonnes. From opening up foundations and floors to reducing rock and rubble, the right hammer takes you quickly and precisely through the hardest material. We match every breaker to the tonnage class and hydraulic flow of your machine, with expert advice and fast delivery in the Netherlands, Belgium and beyond.

What does a hydraulic breaker do?

A hydraulic breaker, also called a demolition hammer, uses oil pressure to drive a heavy piston that strikes the chisel onto the material at high frequency. That breaks concrete, masonry, asphalt and rock that you cannot crack with a bucket or pulveriser. Lighter hammers are ideal for trenching, pavement and renovation work, while heavy hammers run production on large demolition and quarry projects. Looking instead for a tool to crush concrete and separate it from the rebar? Take a look at our pulverisers.

Choosing the right breaker

You choose the right breaker based on the tonnage class of your excavator, the weight of the hammer and the impact energy in joules. A hammer that is too heavy overloads the boom and the machine, while one that is too light costs you output on heavy material. The required oil flow and working pressure also have to suit your machine. For the material you choose the right chisel, from a moil or point chisel for rock to a flat chisel for demolition. Our specialists work out with you which class of hammer and which chisel suit your work.

Matched to your quick coupler and tonnage

A breaker has to connect safely and directly to your machine. We match the hammer to the right quick coupler, CW connection and tonnage class, and check the hydraulic line that drives the hammer. That way you couple quickly and the hammer works as it should. Not sure about the connection of your machine? Send us your machine type and we will find the right combination, and supply the matching hoses and controls if needed.

Chisels, wear parts and maintenance

A breaker lasts longest with timely maintenance and the right wear parts. The chisel and the bushes wear the fastest and are easy to replace, so you do not have to renew the whole hammer. Grease the chisel on time, check the gas pressure and keep an eye on the fixings and hoses, as they are under constant heavy load when breaking. We supply chisels, bushes, pins and hydraulic parts that fit your hammer. Take a look at our parts category or ask us for the right part for your type of breaker.

New and used, with expert advice

Riverland Parts supplies breakers new from stock and, on request, used as well. That way you choose what suits your budget and use: a new hammer for daily production, or a good used one for occasional work. We are part of Riverland Equipment, which has traded construction machinery internationally since 2007, so we know the excavators our hammers have to perform on. Frequently asked questions

Which breaker fits my excavator?

It depends on the tonnage class, the oil flow and the connection of your machine. Send us your machine type via +31 418 654 000 or info@riverlandparts.com and we will advise the right class of hammer.

What is the difference between a breaker and a pulveriser?

A breaker smashes solid concrete and rock with a chisel, while a pulveriser crushes concrete and separates it from the rebar. For recycling concrete a pulveriser is often the better choice.

Do you also supply chisels and wear parts?

Yes, chisels, bushes, pins and hydraulic parts are in our parts category or available on request.
